Here comes the rain…inside the Barbican

Two months ago I posted this photo on my Facebook page and so many people asked me what it was and where it was taken so, since Rain Room is still on until March 2013 I wanted to mention it on my blog for those who haven’t heard of it yet.

The Rain Room

Rain Room is an experimental artwork by Random International, in which the audience interacts with the installation by entering the room and walking under the rain but without getting wet, it’s like controlling it. How does it work? Through sensors.

During each visit only five people are allowed at a time, expect to queue up to 2 hours so I recommend to go 30 mins before it opens on weekends or very early on weekdays and did I mention it is free?

To information on the exhibition opening hours check out the link below

Dancers will perform inside Rain Room on four Sundays during the exhibition from Sun 20 Jan to 24 Feb, it is a very interesting and unique experience that can’t be missed!

It rocks my world! Tame Imapala

I’m an 80’s child but I thank the universe greatly for not having to listen to cheesy and commercial music of that decade while growing up, instead, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin were played at home and there it was…my love for Rock & Roll was born.

Tame Impala is an Australian band and Lonerism,  their second album, was voted one of the best albums of 2012. These are only a few reasons why, it has a psychedelic sound, which is a reminiscent of great rock bands from the 60’s and 70’s and although the lyrics are opaque and talk about loneliness it’s both, the lovely vocals and drums that come and hit in each song the final elements to an awesome  album that doesn’t sound like any other at this time.

Lonerism

Lonerism comes at a time when psychedelic rock music is hardly made, we are surrounded by commercial artists and everything becomes mainstream so quickly. This album is so refreshing and none of the twelve songs are disappointing, I listen to the whole album a ridiculous amount of times but  my favourite tracks are Elephant, Be above it and Endors Toi and It feels like we are going backwards.

Tame Impala played at Later …with Jools Holland a few weeks ago and I thought they were awesome so watching them live was added to my wish list for 2013, they will be playing in London next summer!

CFConcept, an edgy new brand

One of my favourite topics, jewellery!

I attended to the launch party of the new jewellery brand CFConcept. It was held at the Hollywood Rd Gallery in West London, a lovely and ideal place for the event, it was a very enjoyable & successful evening and at the end of the night many guest left happy with their purchases.

The designer Charlotte Flyvholm, also a model and actress, has embarked on the very exciting project of creating the CFConcept, a  brand  characterised by unconventional beauty and distinctive designs.

Her debut collection was inspired by her travels, photos and sketches she collected over the years, but her Scandinavian roots and appreciation of Nordic style have been her main source of inspiration.

Crafted from gold and silver her line features unique pieces meticulously finished to the highest quality. Pieces start from £100 and there is something for everyone, from feminine necklaces to edgy designs such as the Mastiff Ring or my favourite, the Norman Ring, a unisex piece totally suitable for rock chicks like me.

Fashion is such a competitive industry and I imagine how difficult it is  for designers to come up with  beautiful, innovative and affordable items, so when I notice a brand or designer that ticks those boxes I’m immediately a fan. I think Charlotte Flyholm is a very talented woman and I can’t wait to see  CFConcept’s  second collection.
