The Best of LFW AW13

It has been incredibly hard to pick my favourite of LFW. London is an exciting City with many talented designers, who never cease to impress with their quirky, bold and original creations, more than 70 shows over 5 days, from young new designers to established names such as Burberry and Vivienne Westwood.

Although New York, London and Milan fashion week is over and there is only Paris left in order to finally predict the trends for next season I’m sure most of this will be recreated on the High Street this Autumn.

So far we have seen a great amount of pink and red on the catwalk, animal print, patent leather and PVC, sequins, fur trim details and coats in pastel colours, flowers, oversize coats and jackets, and below the knee skirts and dresses. I’m rather excited about the pink oversize coats and the 1920’s and 50’s vibe to be honest!

There were so many highs at LFW, from Sister by Sibling’s beautiful chinky knits and Christopher Kane’s silk flower dresses to Thomas Tait’s electric and original show and Burberry Prorsum epic finale with Tom Odell behind the piano just to name a few, but I’m going to start with one of my top labels, Topshop Unique, which has gone for a more sophisticated look in this collection. I particularly love the colour palette and fabrics.

Cara Delevingne, the face in endless fashion ad campaigns, magazines and the most seen model on the catwalk at LFW, she is the coolest girl in town!

I love the heroine chic look, PVC embellished dresses and pink fur coats at Roksanda Ilincic AW13.

A contrast of Pink, PVC and a touch of Green seemed to work beautifully in this collection.

Meadham Kirchhoff ‘s collection always wow me, their designs are traditional and feminine with a twist, I absolutely love the beautiful silk dresses worn with patent leather jackets, the shoes and hairdos. The styling can really make or break a collection but this label always makes it work.

Louise Grey ‘s collection was as usual, the most fun of all, a combination of mix matching prints, layers and bold accessories.

Although Tata-Nakka’s collection wasn’t one of the highlights at LFW I really like the prints, shoes and styling, they didn’t have a catwalk, instead a rather lovely and cute presentation of the clothes.

Pastel colours were quite popular at LFW but specially Powder Pink, it will definitely be big next season.
